bst obtained first ETA (European Technical Approval)
In May 2010 the European standard EN 1366-3 for fireproof cable- and pipe penetrations in walls and floors came into effect – however, there was not one single product on the market which complied with this standard and had the necessary approval. On 25 January 2011 all this changed: bst obtained the first ETA (European Technical Approval) for its Mixed Penetration Seal, Type AK-2.50. With classifications EI 90 and E 120 (according to EN 13501) the requirements of fire protection are adequately met throughout Europe. By this, bst proved again its position as “Global Technology Leader” in all firestop and sealing matters.
Building industries are waiting eagerly for product systems of this kind, since the adherence to the new standard is bindingly required in many European countries. So, now the way is clear to introduce the most modern, Europe-wide standardized preventive fire protection for cable and pipe penetrations!
